Academics

Kingston College has a strong academic tradition.

KC has produced four Rhodes Scholars. The school’s first Rhodes Scholar was Leroy Murad in 1936.   The others include Evan Morris (1950), Delroy Chuck (1973) and Stephen Vasciannie (1981).

The school has also produced several students who have earned the coveted titles, Jamaica Scholar and Jamaica Independence Scholar.  There have been seven Jamaica Scholars and six Jamaica Independence Scholars from KC.

In 2013, Six KC were students admitted into the Family of Medical Sciences, a first in the school’s history with a number of the students graduating with distinctions in biology, physics and chemistry in the CAPE examinations.
